Rest products – waste such as household waste, recycled wood, other types of wood waste, bark, green waste, industrial waste etc. is used more and more as fuel.
There are within the EU laws against landfilling of materials that can still be energy recovered.
Energy recovery from waste materials is now prioritised all over Europe, and spreading.
Hi landfill taxes create the economic platform necessary to push investments in waste handling equipment forward.
A good fuel quality is key for successful energy recovery in the boilers and it also contribute to less emission.
IQR System´s hammer mills (The FlexHammer™) are contructed for the treatment of waste materials. They have a built in safety system with a reject door that allows uncrushable objects to leave the machine without damaging it. Machines for feeding, conveying, screening and metal separation, as well as electrics, automation and hydraulics is part of our program.
Combustion of waste based fuels takes place in Fluid bed furnaces or grate type boilers. This depends on user philosophy/preferences or on the scale of the plant. For example, the IQR gasifier works very well on wooden waste materials.
The result of the combustion process is dependent of the fuel quality. An even fuel quality i.e a controlled particle size and even moisture content are important factors for the control of the combustion (except in the IQR SFC-type furnace which does not care about this as much).
The results from using a well prepared fuel is efficient energy recovery and low emission in the flue gasses. A homogenous fuel allows for optimization of the combustion process by making it possible to easier keep the intended combustion temperature and avoid unnecessary non-combusted material in the ash.
